Hyatt Regency Festive Afternoon Tea - 3 stars out of 5 As some of you may know, I’m slightly obsessed with cakes, and not just any old cake, I like the good stuff, the homemade stuff. That’s the reason why I created Togri Bakery so everyone can have access to handmade cakes rather than the dreary supermarket dross. This obsession has fuelled my desire for trying out afternoon teas as it’s nice to have cake made by someone else for a change. Also, afternoon teas make excellent gifts for loved ones. Afternoon Tea Review - The Park Regis Hotel - Birmingham

Park Regis Hotel - 4 out of 5 There's a new hotel in town and a rather fancy one too.  It's called the Park Regis and it's located at Five Ways Island off Broad Street in what used to be the Five Ways Shopping Centre complex.  The shopping centre has been replaced by a car park and the tower has been completely refurbished into this marvellous hotel.  When we heard good reports about their afternoon tea we felt that we must make this our next afternoon tea destination. They can't get enough of le crumble.  Also, just like our crumble,...

Hotel La Tour Afternoon Tea - 5 out of 5 As you may have guessed by now I am really into my cakes (and puddings, and pies, and ice cream..).  Let's just say I have a sweet tooth.  Anyway, I'm very sniffy about factory made cakes because they are bland, dry and uninspiring.  So, if I am going to splurge on a sweet treat then it needs to be really worth it.  It needs to be delicious for the eyes and the belly. I apply these same high standards to afternoon teas.  In fact, I have even higher standards regarding...

Summer is a time for picnics, days out to the seaside and enjoying the fruit of the summer season. In my opinion, cherries are one of the special tasty jewels of the summer berry season, but the cherry season is painfully short. So now the cherry season has arrived it is important to make the most of it. So adorn your beautiful Togri cakes with cherries, or make a cherry pie, or as I like to do, make a cherry fool. The great thing about making fools is they are super simple to make but very delicious. Here is...
