Easter Simnel Cake By Post
Simnel cake is a traditonal Easter fruit cake with two layers of marzipan. The middle layer of marzipan is baked inside the fruit cake resulting in a deliciously moist and tasty cake. The top of the Simnel cake is brushed with apricot jam and expertly decorated by our amazing bakers with a layer of golden marzipan. The edges are crimped, the top is scored with a crosshatch and 11 balls of marzipan are placed in a circle around the edge. The 11 balls are said to represent the 11 apostles.
So celebrate Easter in style with our Simnel cake. Each cake comes on a silver foil cake board and if you wish, you can include a lemon yellow ribbon tied around the cake for that extra panache.
